Markj, I can delete a "waypoint-in-a-route" if I go into the "Properties" dialogue of the route...
ie: I right-click the route, choose properties and then in the dialogue window that opens, I highlight the waypoint I don't want with a left click. Now, I right-click and choose "remove selected".
The waypoint I deleted is orphaned from the route...it still exists in case I want to reincorporate it or even actually delete it as a separate (right-click!) operation....

Hi Happy Seagull,

Thanks. Yes, that works fine in Route Properties.

But I have a 249 waypoint route and cutting 25 waypoints is a pain that way.
Also I like to be able to delete waypoints as I go and remove some etc.

There was a waypoint delete in the context menue, but now no more? There is only the Route context minute on right click.

Can you delete by right clicking?

PS a very happy seagull must have camped on my spreaders last night..... Obviously he had been stuffing his face..... Yuk!

NMEA RMC and navigation leg Pop-Up window. (Se screen dumps in attached doc)

The RMC output to the autopilot is working nice. I assume the ECRMC sentence is coming from O [e.g. Dave]. But there is also a repeated sentence GPRMC probably originated from the GPS. Those two RMCs have different contents. Can anyone explain why and the possible impact to connected receiver? (My Simrad Wheel pilot can, due to its specifications, use the magnetic variation.)

While checking the NMEA out signals I recognised there is no information in the Leg Window. See dump. It seams to be dependent on the "Journeyman Flat" appearance scheme. When i swithed back to "Traditional" the text in the Leg window is visible again. (Black text on black background?)

Others. The NMEA Mux is fantastic!

Hi
It is impossible now to get the "Way point" sub-menu when right click on a way point
inside in a route . Is it a new design (not very practical) or a bug ?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong! I think that you just found a bug.
I also have a BU353+kubuntu 12.04 amd64.
I do receive NMEA on /dev/ttyUSB0, confirmed by "cat /dev/ttyUSB0", but nothing in the debug window, and seemingly no gps info received by O.

Switching to gpsd, and everything just works.

If at all, I think the right click menu could have TWO options : "Remove" OR "Delete" the wpt from the route- not just delete.
because other users have said they incorporate Marks/POI into routes as way points. Marks/POIs all have the capability to contain links and therefore a certain amount of work and care.These folk would not want just the option to delete Mark/POI to get it off a route.
As is, it suits both methods but makes a little more work....

As it is now it makes a lot more work. Now I have to delete 29 marks I traveled today.

It would make me revert to an earlier version.

Well..... I can at least see the hole sentences that is ending with* and the check sum. (see also post #63)
But I do agree with your coding of the RMC sentence where the last field shall be either E or W but not A as i my shot. But that is more or less a curiosity. My main hesitation is why the strange AIS RMC sentence is ever forwarded out to the autopilot even though that sentence is filtered out, coloured brown in the NMEA window.

Without resolving your doubts:

The last field before the checksum indicates from V2.3 on:
FAA Mode Indicator
A = Autonomous mode
D = Differential Mode
E = Estimated (dead-reckoning) mode
M = Manual Input Mode
S = Simulated Mode
N = Data Not Valid

So "A" is a valid value

Yes I see you're right and I didn't count what filed the "A" really was in, I only noticed the last. It's actually in field 12 and that's new since, I believe, version V2.3. Very good, thanks.
My old GPS have 11 and the new AIS use 12 fields. That's why the differences appear. And, my Autopilot is old as well so the filed 12 is probably omitted without notice?

The combined intelligence of a forum like is brilliant. And now TGIF, in Sweden as well
