At the first tests on an old Vista platform laptop I notice a major improvement with fluid In/Out zooming on the CM93 dataset. Thanks a lot for that.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

I do have trouble with the rendering of the Pilots charts. See screenshot.

The CM93 zooming goes really fast and smooth now even with all features for the CM93 set turned ON. If I switch to the Pilot Charts, the chart data seems to be hidden somewhere but even after in/out zoomin does not become visible.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Hi,

there is a cosmetic problem with the width of the route tooltip stickers:
the width is often insufficient, cutting the first or the last characters in the lines. Seems to depend on the last line basicly (where btw the closing bracket is missing)

Thank you Dave and everyone for all your work on OpenCPN. It gets better and better

I was following the beta 3.1.1105 thread and only saw this thread by chance. Would it be possible to make a post in the old beta thread when starting a new thread for a new beta build?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Excellent work, thank you so much. Only problem found is one must change the < Chartsymbols.xml > file for the charts S57 current arrows pointing towards north instead of their respective direction. This must have been forgotten in the compiling process.
Best Regards.
P_Dub

Note:- I have build many ship shape in png format and they work OK.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Hi, My new computer is crashing. Seems to last a few minutes, then lockup totally. Need to cycle power, and then it prompts safe mode etc. Dang! gift from daughter, I better make it work. Win 7 64 Lenovo G560 250gig SDD and 6g ram. Using two ATEN 232->USB converters through a Belkin 4 port USB hub. Doing troubleshooting now, went back to O, v3.02, same. Now running Termite to monitor the ports (hyperterm replacement) Very nice utility http://www.compuphase.com/software/termite30.zip

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

OOPS well that did not take long. Had two instances of Termite running, watching the NMEA stream from the GPS, and the AIS, stable for about 11 minutes then the 'puter locked up. So its NOT OpenCPN. (did I hear someone shout multiplexer?) Any help would be LOVED right now, I hate telling my girl that its all beer and skittles when it aint. OH tried O v3.02 on the old DELL running XP (with the SP3 workaround) and its rock solid! with the same 2x ATEN's and Belkin hub etc....

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Please advise if this is the wrong thread to find help on a crashing issue. My 1st post is the configuration. My second indicated a crash using Termite. I have downgraded to 3.02, but will install latest beta again. Last night, I ran Termite for 11 hours monitoring the inputs. Woke this AM and stopped Termite, started O, and within 6 minutes the machine froze again. Have to cycle power to unlock it.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Hi.
Crash report for info but not urgent:

I was installing s57 files for the first time. In earlier versions I have only used CM93 and raster, e.g KAP, files so I'm not sure if the crashes depends on Beta 3.1.1206 or not. They all happened during or after Senc files creation and when that eventually was finalized it's all stable again. It could be due to lack of video memory capacity? (128 Mb RAM) OpenGL was not used. I've tried also to load Senc files without any other charts loaded but without noticeable performance.
My XP environment as well as a commented log file are included in a xls (txt) file attached. (Tried to get file size down using txt but had to put it in a xls though)
Attached Files
File Type: xls OpenCPN_Logfile.xls (88.0 KB, 98 views)

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1206 Released

Hello,

It seem that all is Ok.

But ..

Using CM93, I have see this problem of display. If we are on "Paper chart mode" or in "Simplified chart mode", some buoys are not displayed.

See screen copy near the mouse cursor, to the bottom of the screen
