Well, that's how refreshing display works ;-) If you only refresh part of it, you may reach to overlapping garbage.

The display is only refreshed once every second. Before, it's refreshed on every sentence received. It should be way lighter than before (and we're using GL for smooth graphics)

It may be a problem with your graphic driver. Nothing like that occurred during our extensive tests. Can you try to change font, font size or font weight and report? Do this also occurs on other machines? What's your OS, is OpenGL working fine on this particular PC?

Should not upset you my preliminary observations. I did report the problem that I have with version 3.1.1105 without changing fonts, appearance and character size.

I use a ASUS 1001 HA EeePc, W, SP3, 10-inch screen.

On this machine, using OpenGL brings nothing interesting. The flicker effect titles does not disappear when using OpenGL.

I changed the appearance and character size. With the settings I have chosen, the result of the display is readable. In addition, the flicker is gone.

See screenshot. The first, with openGL, the other without OpenGL.

Cordialement

Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

Zorg....

To your comments:

"Maybe i misunderstood or i found something wrong in the connection : if only one sentence is ticked in the "accept only sentences" field, it is OK but if 2 or more sentences are ticked, no sentence is accepted."

You have discovered a bug. The new setting of two or more Accept filter sentences will only be applied if the OpenCPN application is closed, and re-opened. This will be corrected in the next Beta.

"If i want to output from the same port as input do i have to create 2 data connection lines or only one ?"

For combined input and output from one port, only one Connection is required, with filters set as desired.

"Is it possible to create a line as input port @38400 and another line as output with same port @4800 ?"

Input and output from a common port must both be at the same baud rate. This is a limitation of the serial port hardware used in most (all?) PCs.

Thanks for the report.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

OpenCPN can now tap right into the live AIS feed from San Fransisco!
Very nice!
Earlier it was only possible to download, and replay with VDR.

Dave
The AIS button in the ToolBar is on all the time now. I suppose that is right, as we no more specify a dedicated ais port. Compare to the old AIS tab. Users without ais can always hide the button.

The button is a toggle on/off, but the text always says "Show AIS Targets", even when the targets are displayed.

I cannot reprocuce this problem. All is Ok when I change :
- from BSB to CM93 + BSB
- from CM93 + BSB to cm93
- from bsb to All charts
- from All charts to bsb
- from All charts to cm93
- from cm93 to all charts
- Etc ...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

Hello Dave,
There seems to have a bug concerning moving an existing waypoint to a different location in the last version 3.1.1105. I am usig Widows 7 and it is the only programm that does that on my computer. I am usig S57 Charts and CM93 as well.
Unfortunately I can not provide you with the log and/ini files, I had to redo a full installations. The screen had turn light blue.
Regards.

The chief developer of Windows, Steven Sinofsky, has gone from MS. Hopefully he has taken the Blue Screens with him...

Yes no problem. It's easy to ignore all AIS messages for a specific data connection, using input filtering.

Thomas,
thislinkhttp://vtslite.siitech.com/VTSLite/AView.aspx?lat=49.5035661&lng=-124.778252&zoom=09&mmsi=123456243

just edit the position

(I added the "thislink" to stop this place from not showing the address. Is there a better way?)

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

BCN & Happy

On 207.7.148.216:9009 there is a free public AIS stream covering the approaches to SF. I was asking if anyone knew of similar ip addresses sending AIS streams without any restrictions. In this case I'm only interested in testing O.

Yes. You can:

- Reply in advanced mode and uncheck "Automatically retrieve titles"

or

- Paste the URL as text, select it, click "Insert link" button, and paste the URL as the link as well.
