Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi,
I am not sure what the issue you are having is. I have just installed ODraw 1.4.4 into OCPN 4.8.4 on Ubuntu and I can edit the Lat and Lon. You do have to have the boundary point properties open and edit them in there. You cannot edit the boundary point Lat and Lon in the boundary properties dialog. You can get to this dialog box multiple ways:
  • Via the OD Manager, select the boundary to get the boundary properties then double click or right click the boundary point you want to edit. Change the lat and lon then click OK.

  • Double click the boundary, or right click the boundary and select properties, then select the boundary point you want to change.

  • Double click the boundary point or right click the boundary point and select properties. The change the lat and lon.
Can you try each of these methods and see if you can change what you want?

Regards
Jon

ODraw 1.4.4 with OCPN 4.8.4 on Win10

I cannot edit the Lat and Lon.

Right click on Boundary point > Select Properties (Cannot edit lat/long)

> You cannot edit the boundary point Lat and Lon in the boundary properties dialog.
Ok., but why not?

Jon I don't see any Preference setting that would affect this feature in Windows.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Thanks, I have tried each of the above they all get me to the properties screen but when I click on the lat or long box it does not allow any changes. I have just downloaded the latest version of Draw for windows.
This could be a result of my computer operating skills.

Russell, I doubt that it has to do with your skills. Are you using Windows OS
What version Opencpn and Ocpn_draw?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi,
I have found the issue and fixed it in patch 1.4.71. I cannot build windows installs that will work for others. The issue only showed up in windows.

Also, I fixed the copy/paste of lat/lon between ODPoint (Boundary Point, Text Points, etc). This is accessed by right clicking in either the lat or lon fields and selecting from the drop down menu.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Thank you Jon! This is a great improvement. EBL seems to have a problem with changing the Lat or Long, it always reverts back to the original values for some reason. Why I wonder? Also Paste Lat/Long into EBL does not work, see comments in the Releases section.

There is a Windows v1.4.71 here
See the comments in the description there.

I hope users will test these nice new features to Copy lat/long in Decimal Degrees and Paste lat/long into other Ocpn_draw objects.
It is quite easy to do, particularly when there is consistency in the format of Lat/Long (ie decimal degrees). This is good.

---IE: We need better copy/paste lat/long interoperability in Opencpn and the plugins. ---

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Rick,
This is sort of by design. Don't forget the EBL moves with the boat so the end point moves as well. The EBL itself keeps the length and direction and updates the end point based on the start point.

If you detach the start point you can then update the end point by typing or copy/paste then you have to attach the start point to the boat again. This will recalculate the length and angle based on the current position of the end point and the boat.

Hope this makes sense.

Yes, understood. Perhaps a pop-up message "No. Paste not supported here" which disappears when someone tries to paste lat/long at that moment, when it won't work.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Found a problem! in CPN 4.99 (Windows) with OpenGL enabled
If you add a Boundary Point, then the ENC fails, the map starts tearing apart.
This only happens with this object and only in OpenGL when you turn off OpenGL with the map everything is fine.

Hi,
I need the version number of ocpn_draw_pi as well. You will find that in 'Options/Plugins/OCPN Draw/Preferences/About".

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi,
I now have a windows 10 version of OCPN 4.99 and OD 1.5.14 (the beta version, but there have been no changes in this area) using wxWidgets 3.1.1 (older versions, 1.4.70/1 may have been compiled with wxWidgets 3.0.2 or earlier) and I don't see the issue. What vector chart are you using? CM93, s63,...? What version of wxWidgets are you using?

I have had issues with tearing of OCPN when using OpenGL on some devices, i.e. Raspberry PI, and issues running under VirtualBox, but they have not been specific to OD. It happens regardless of OD, just OD 'can' make it more obvious as the system is having to work harder.

Can you try with OD 1.4.4?

Thanks
Jon
