Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon I've compiled and tested v1.5.14 using wxwidgets 3.0.2 to be compatible with OpenCPN v4.8.4 and the windows setup file is available on github.

It works. Thank you for your work on this plugin!

What vector chart are you using? CM93, s63,...? What version of wxWidgets are you using?

I have had issues with tearing of OCPN when using OpenGL on some devices, i.e. Raspberry PI, and issues running under VirtualBox, but they have not been specific to OD. It happens regardless of OD, just OD 'can' make it more obvious as the system is having to work harder.

Can you try with OD 1.4.4?

Thanks
Jon

I check on the version of CPN and the plugin from the site.
cards CM-93, ENC S-57
on beta 1.5. same thing

I think it's not in the plugin but in the CPN itself
I've already reported to Dave about the same problem with the card when the track highlight in OpenGL mode

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Thanks for your help in the past some further notes on my progress.

I am trying to draw the no fishing zones on the NE coast of Australia. The coast is divided up into 19 zones (maps 1 to 19) each zone has a number of areas. Drawing these areas can use from 4 to over 200 Draw points.
Once I have completed each Area I name it and the draw points and save it to a folder.
During this process I have noticed the following
1. Open CPN shows an error (see below)
a. every time on shut down since I have loaded Draw.
b. when I try to delete groups of files (7 or more) from Draw Manager.

Message “opencpn.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
2.When I exit out of CPN and return I have lost some of the titles to the areas it is replaced with (Unnamed) Boundary. 21 Titles are unchanged.
I am running windows 10 and the version 4.8.4 of Open CPN and Draw1.4.71

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Update on the above problems. I deleted the ODnavobj.xml file and the problem with the error message has stopped, I am now reloading the areas I had created (from backup file) one at a time to see if the problem returns.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Russell,
Can you attach a copy of your ODnavobj.xml so that I can have a look at what is happening?

Thanks
Jon

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Russell, how big is it? If it is small enough, just add ".doc" or ".pdf"

When you attach there is a list of sizes for file types

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Russell,

1. Compress/Zip the file (Win10 right-click, Send To, Compressed (zipped) folder). That should drastically reduce the size of an xml file.

2. Rename the file (Win10 right-click, rename OR F2), changing the extension from '.zip' to '.pdf' (Windows will complain about this, tell it you really want to). That will make the system here think it is a valid type.

Post the file, and let everyone know it is a zip file, when they download it they can reverse your steps.

I deleted all the areas I created and started to add them back until the error message (program stopped) appeared.

With my Laptop Lenovo, W 10.

I have a 4.84 version and a 4.86 version in parallel.
- On version 4.84, I use DR 1.4.47. No problem.
- On version 4.86, I tried to install version 1.5.22 given now online on the OpenCPN.org website. But, this version of DR does not appear in the list of plugins in "Options / Plugins" tab.

What about ?

I think you need the 4.99 for the beta.
