Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Open System Preferences -> Network, select the network card, check that you have an IP address.

Also:
- OpenGL mode not enabled. OpenGL is mandatory for radar.

- Boat position not present.

Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Turning on OpenGL was the key.
Thanks Merrimac!
I haven't worked on Overlay, but I'll get there.
I'm very happy to get this going! Now to watch my first front coming through.
Cheers,
Sam

Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Check your spoke count, and check it again on wired Ethernet.

You can also try turning up the gain until you have a completely cluttered image. Any spokes missing point to drop outs.

You can fiddle with your wireless AP settings to make improvements (use 5 GHz, for instance) but there are no guarantees which is why we always recommend wired ethernet.

Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Ivanm..
The radar_pi has code for Navico Halo but I haven't tried it myself and I'm not sure if it's fully functional. I've a Navico 3G.

I've run the plugin and my 3G on RPi 2B+ and 3B+ works OK.
To install the plugin I've built it on the Pi. No problem.
The Ubuntu wiki for to build yourself: https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...ompiling_linux

The radar_pi source is here: https://github.com/opencpn-radar-pi/radar_pi

Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Ivanm..
In a couple of days I'll make some test on my Pi for O and radar_pi. It may be I could build a RPi package as well that you may test if you like.
Stay tuned. I'll reply

Re: Navico radar plugin v3.0 released

Ivanm..
Now I've built and run radar_pi on my RPi 3B+.
Here's a link to the .deb package: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jb03gx4fsp...armhf.deb?dl=1
It's though built on Ubuntu 18.10 so I hope it will work for you.

I'm, as said, not sure whether the Halo function is working properly but please make a try if you like.
merrimac and douwe would know more about this.

The attached shot shows my RPi and the Navico BR24 radar view from the roof at home

Well we do and we don't. The HALO support was added based on some PCAP files sent to us, but we haven't received feedback yet whether it works with the current code base.

installing goes like this:

sudo dpkg -i (name of the plugin)

Then the plugin is in the plugin menu of OpenCPN
