AtoN additions.

I was thinking to write some code to make the display of AtoN's more ECDIS lookalike. Approximately as described herein.Symbols for AIS ATON
My question:
Is somebody already working on something simular? (double work is not useful)
Does anyone have any additional or better ideas?

Re: AtoN additions.

Dirk...

That would be great! I did not know that NOAA had some recommendations here. Fiddly graphics work, but would be well appreciated.

I know of no-one working on this now, so you may claim it.

Looking forward to your Pull Request.

Thanks
Dave

Dirk...
Not working on it now and there's quite some stuff in the queue in front of it, but also look at FS#1664 : Implement AIS AtoN symbols as per IEC 62288 Ed. 2

Pavel your right, I was mixing up chart symbols and AtoN overlays. IEC 62288 it should be.

First draft:
They replaced some buoys by virtual ones in the Baltic due to ice.

Re: AtoN additions.

Dirk...
I suppose they should be hollow not to cover the underlying chart symbol completely. That is also my understanding of the standard.

Re: AtoN additions.

Pavel, I made a compromise. Draw a thick white line first, and then the basic form.
Push request is ready.

Re: AtoN additions.

Dirk, I found this thread. I guess these have been implemented and you would like me to upload the standard symbols images to the Opencpn User Manual?

Is that correct?

Re: AtoN additions.

Dirk, the pics are uploaded here, but they need to be better resolution.
I can resize if you want. We need 800x whatever max.

Here iss the page

Re: AtoN additions.

And a question: what is the difference of the fourth and fifth symbol from the right ( both AtoN without top mark)?
They look absolutely equal.

Re: AtoN additions.

Not sure which pic, but it is possibly thee virtual one vs real. One is dashed one not.
but the resolution of these is not good. Hope to get better ones from Dirk. Then you guys can add notes etc.

Re: AtoN additions.

@Rick
My pictures are screenshots, so I cant make them bigger.
There has been an update in the AtoN code, now the circle are drawn open as supposed to.
Here two pictures. first again all possibilities, from to to bottom: real, real off position, virtual and virtual off position.
The other one is an impression from the great lakes.

Symbols for AIS ATON

Or possibly give me a link to the one you want....

Better yet, I will PM you my email. Why didn't I think of that before?
