Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

That's weird, I pulled and merged "Anchor"

It's in my commits here.

Added black circle on targets moored or anchored.

How to turn it on? I havent checked the checkbox for not showing moored boats.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Ok this morning I found a black ball.
Is this plugin filtering for just Class A AIS? I think that should be an option.

I have a question about the ship Tristan that is not moving. Why no black ball?
See below.

Tristan has a class B AIS. So, no black ball possible.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

I see, so the Class A filter is applied before the black ball for moored ships.

Franziska can you test these please?
The we can get them updated on the downloads page.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Rick,

Class B AIS units cannot transmit information like destination, turning speed, mooring status and the like. Only Class A AIS can do that. There is no filter in this plugin.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Rick I can test it as I am on the boat. But I have no Plug-in for OpenCPN 5 which I am running.

Can you point me to the right location?
I am on a slow metered connection...

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Ok, I thought I saw a filter for Class A in your code.

I have changed the name of radar_pi to AISradar_pi which it should have been in the first place! It was unbelievably easy. In your radar_pi repository in the upper right menu bar pick Settings and the first thing you'll see is Repository Name. I have changed several repositories like this, including logbook, taking off the version number which became wrong and one other.

https://github.com/rgleason/AISradar_pi/commits/master

The only thing that gets screwed up is the "remotes" settings for your local repository which you can fix easily with git remote delete/add

I strongly suggest everyone with a fork of Verazanno's "radar_pi" make this easy change, because it is causing problems and confusion with Opencpn "radar_pi" which is the Only plugin that deserves that name! Thanks.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Logged in under the appveyor radar_pi project, pick General and you can rename the project AISradar_pi Here are the links to the Artifacts Tab for testing

aisradar_pi-1.1.1-ov50-win32.exe

aisradar_pi-1.1.1-ov42-win32.exe

Please post your results here.
BTW I notice that the URL for Appveyor even after the name change, is still "..radar_pi..."

Great!

Try this appveyor artifacts Tab file

aisradar_pi-1.1.1-ov50-win32.exe

These files are used for testing and confirming that a plugin compiles. They will be stored there for 60 days I believe.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Hi Rick,

seems to be working under 5. Thank you.

One thing I noticed is if you are setting the range some targets slightly above the range seem to be displayed just outside of the rings.
This doesn't bother me, I just observed that.

Still a question, could one add an option eventually to right click on those targets visible in the plugin and display their details?

Thanks, greetings from the sunny French atlantic coast.

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Thanks, I'll see if we can get it on the downloads website for others to use.

Note:
If Options > Ships > AIS Targets "Suppress anchored/moored targets, speed max (kn) say .2 is checked no moored or stopped vessels will be seen.

You can also check "Suppress Alerts for anchored/moored targets" which most people would say is a good thing to do.

The most you can do is see the name of the vessel right now, but the chart screen allows right click and select "Target query"

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

Thanks Rick, I was aware of the right click on target in the chart.

Anyway I consider the AIS Radar a nice to have, but not crucial plugin. Sometimes it's helpful if the chart is cluttered and you need to identify a target quickly.

Thank you and have a nice evening.

See below.
It will only show on Class A targets and then only if the crew are on the ball!

Re: AIS Radar Plugin missing information

I tried to install AIS-Radar on a Linux Mint box and it said it cannot find it. So I downloaded the fork, make it and opencpn 5 says it is not valid. I checked the ppa and there is no builds for bionic

I started a new thread about this before I found this sticky. I cannot get this nor VDR to work on Mint or Ubuntu. All I get is "package not found".
