Update on French Yacht "Tanit" (Victims of Piracy)

When the Lemacons – Chloe, Florent and their son Colin – were captured by Somali pirates during their sailing trip of a lifetime, it triggered a rescue mission that went disastrously wrong. For the first time Chloe talks about life on the boat (“Tanit”), the kidnapping – and the killing of her husband.

This post is intended to provide an informational update, on the sad events previously discussed in http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tes-25186.html .
It’s not intended to rekindle the flames of that unruly debate.

Dunno what to say. I have a lot of oposing and conflicting thoughts, none of which provide an answer to either the problem of piracy or the alledged reasons for these people resorting to piracy.

Many parts of the world are unstable for travelers and yet we also face risks at home too.

Lets be careful out there

Hi Gord. Thanks for that.

Remember the old days before GPS? What did we use often? RDF Radio Direction Finders. So if you talk on the radio at sea you will increase the chance of being located.
