26ft Westerly anchor advice

Hi,

I have recently taken ownership of a Westerly Centaur 26ft displacement 6.700lbs , the boat has come with no ground tackle except a 6kg Delta.

I do not have a windless and do not fancy fitting one.
Will be sailing in the Uk coastal hopping.

What should I equip the boat with from here?

You should dump that POS and sell her cheap, to me!

Any of the new gen anchors should work fine.

My boat displaces 6,600lbs and I'm still using the old 20 lb CQR that came with the boat. I have a backup Bruce that has yet to hit the water plus three danforths. The PO was big on anchors.

Go here for everything.. a 15kg Bruce will be great for UK coastal sailing.
30metres of the chain they recommend and a 10kg Danforth for Kedge and 10 metres of chain.. plus 25m of nylon rode for each.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.
Always wanted a Westerly Centaur but they are hard to find in the Ohio area.

I have owned 2 twin keel sailboats
1. Kingfisher 20
2. Alacrity 19

Both sailed and balanced very well.

Bear in mind.. Palm Bay, Florida is not the UK and does not have the tides..
