Open CPN Charts for Indonesia

Please tell me what to look for, where to find, charts for Indonesia
I am also looking for , and failing to find, a source of electronic charts on Indonesia compatible with my Raymarine 120e chartplotter. Thanks for any advice, Murtaig

Charts up there are notoriously inaccurate.
Best you'll likely get is cm93 and kap files on opencpn.
Currently banging off a pile of MBtiles now, interesting so see the discrepancy between cm93, C-map, navionics and various sattelite overlays

Our up todate Jepperson CMap charts have been pretty good through Indonesia. Lacking some detail in p,aces. The freebie CM93 charts leave a lot to be desired, but using them along with Sat images and a printed guidew. orks pretty well. You can download sat images for many of the Indo anchorages here

The CM93 worked as good as any for Indonesia. The anchorages are better covered in the various cruising guides.

That hasn't been my experience. The updated CMap charts are far better than the freebie CM93 charts. They aren't 1st world country complete, but pretty good most places.

The Scott Cruising Guide to Indonesia is much more complete and covers hundreds more anchorages in Indo than the SE Asia Pilot.

Indonesia is covered by the Australian OeSenc charts. Have a check at o-charts.org

I understand that today's version of C-map may show that red mark 5 ft to the east but for most, that is neither here nor there.

Comparing a chart to a sat image is not that meaningful - you need both. The sat images should definately be used in the areas where the water is clear and the image shows reef detail. Good info. The updated CMap charts are far superior to CM93 freebies. They include much more detail and better soundings. The CM93 are offset in lat/long in many areas, the updated charts only in a few.

Agreed . I use both navionics and opencpn Cm93, navionics in general is better than the pirated cmaps.

Personally I would ( and do) use a program like ovitalmap to compliment charts, considering it's a free download theres no downside.
