Yea, I always thought it was a little inconvenient but it’s been that way forever. You do not have to have the throttle in the pedestal. If you have a better spot you could move it.

My experience with these Quest fittings is that they fail quite often. I’m not sure but the picture looks like a 15 mm fitting. These are easy to replace with any of the newer designs. ...
