Re: Help me flesh out my ground tackle

I feel when it comes to anchoring bigger is better. For me if I had your boat I would go with a Rocna or Spade as primary anchors, 2 sizes bigger then manufacturers advice. I went with a Rocna 33 on my boat which is 40 ft and 12 Tons Displacement . Connected with 200 ft G40 chain and 200 ft of 8 Plait line . Secondary is Spade with 40 ft G40 chain and 300 ft of 8 Plait Line . I also keep a Danforth for kedge . Keep your primary in tip top shape so the secondary never has to come out. I don't see the sense in using anything but my ideal storm anchor as primary , I'm not into changing anchors when things turn nasty .
