Looking for a boat I grew up on.....Liberty 49 - hull#13

Hi all,

I grew up on a Liberty 49 named Moon Dragon - hull #13 in late 80's through early 90's. It has been sold twice since my dad sold it (as far as I know) and has had two name changes that I know of. I had found one owner in New York and he was planning to move to TX several years ago but I lost his contact info. If anyone knows of this boats location, please let me know. I would love to see how she is doing and (possibly) if she is ever for sale again.....I would like to be first in line. It would be a dream come true to have this boat back in my family.

Thank you,
Kristy

Emotional or nostalgic purchases are possibly the most foolhardy. You don't need to buy back the memories you already have. Though there is nothing wrong with a visit or a sail (if you can manage to get an offer).

However, that being said. I truly wish you the best of luck.

I think I found your boat! There was a video posted in Sept 2022 touring her. Timestamp in video ~ 12:40, host mentions he believes it's the last hull built of 13.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard CF, Caroa.

Help me out here please, exactly where in the YT clip does the host mention anything about the hull build of 13?

I could not find it anywhere near 12.40 nor could I find any mention of it elsewhere.

Thanks Wotname, and sorry, I quoted the wrong timestamp. Scubaseas is correct: 26:40. Verbatim starting @ 26:33: "There's only been 13 of these boats built, and I believe this was the last (of the) boats, and she is really in superb condition."
Interesting goal would be to sail on all 13 hulls!

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
