Buying a Liberty 458

We are set to purchase a 1982 Liberty 458 in about a week. Having it surveyed and the engine inspected by a mechanic.
Would appreciate any input as to what we need to make sure that WE check while on board. We will be staying on it for a few days during the haulout and survey. Appears to be a great boat for long distance sailing.

Congrats! You may want to state WHERE the boat is. You've got the right idea in that you should be doing the survey WITH the surveyor and the mechanic.

I'll leave specific advice on the boat itself to someone familiar with them.
