By the way, if you are looking for a long term solution, the cheapest mooring I found in the area were in East Providence. Permits from the city were very cheap but you had to buy your own mooring setup and have it installed. Been a while since I researched it, but as I recall prices were $1500 or more plus installation for various pyramid and mushroom style mooring anchors so would only be cost effective if you plan to stay a while.

The other negative, you are all the way at the end of Narragansett Bay which leaves you about 30 miles to reach open water. Of course sailing around the bay there's lots of stuff to see but if you want to get out to the ocean every weekend it would be a lot of extra travel.

I was just reading something the other day at the Pacific Tsunami museum that said British sailors brought mosquitos to the Hawaiian Islands in 1827.
