Good one and about true

Actually I was checking my lottery tickets tonight at the grocery and my Power Ball ticket sayed to check with the teller but it was too close to the draw time to get info so I'll check to see if I won the 80 million tomorrow, if so I'll buy a couple of catamarans to keep in different locations

Re: If I won the lottery, what boat to buy?

I take it the lottery win would be at least 2 million?
and the vessel would need to be a comfortable passagemaker?

Something like this from $750k now $540k with 2x95hp and sail assist.
Used 1997 BRADY 52 PASSAGEMAKER Boat For Sale - boatsales.com.au

Balance of $1.6mill in the bank getting 6% paying $1850/week for living, fuel and maintenance

But, without knowing the dollar value of the win its a bit hard to choose.

Is it $80 mill?

Then she would be something like this with its slow spinning gardners and probably $76 million in the bank

Would it be a major win? Money to burn? I would get a Gunboat. Maybe the new 78.

It's got a quarter berth besides the forecabin. And a ton of deck storage. And excellent engine access. Very nice boat!!

There's a beautiful 2010 Morelli Melvin 65 on catamarans (dot) com for 2.9 mil (used) and she's a beauty. I'd be willing to keep my current one for a backup and use this one for my main entertainer.

Re: If I Won the Lottery - What Boat to Buy ?

I was thinking that people weren't dreaming big enough, but I now wonder if it's me dreaming too small.

Re: If I Won the Lottery - What Boat to Buy ?

I'd keep the boat I have but upgrade up the wine, women and song ... You folks that want the big expensive boats are just buying a boat management nightmare.

Hmmm ... maybe multiple small boats ... one in the Med ... one in the Carib .... one in the PI ... each with the wine, women and song upgrade ... I would not want anything that required a paid crew onboard.

Yes, the Gunboat (46 would be a fast double handed cruiser) but I could get by with one of the new Contest 50's.
Dream on.

That is the big one for me, no paid crew. Must be capable of single handing.

But MULTIPLE boats? Yeah, that's the ticket.

We have two now.

Then I could have multiple paid yard staff!!!!!

If the lottery can handle it, then a new Yapluka 65 cat. First was thinking about a Gunboat, but they recently transferred all manufacturing to China, so not sure about the quality...

You are on the right track David. 78 feet of carbon slicing through waves would be pretty awesome.
