Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

For some Zee is an acquired taste. For most we find her entertaining, knowledgeable and likable even when we may disagree with some of her, errr...political views :/ we still value her. Been very helpful too with wx reporting during cane season to tips on cruising MX.

Hey Zee, maybe post some good Bubba da boat cat pics? He could offer some emotional support for the overly offended

Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

bubba is 12 this year, and chico da vato is 1 yr old last month.
chico was found under a car in a body shop in mazatlan. donot picture a clean usa body shop, but a rural in the street type body shop.
his veterinarian says his name is perfect.. he is a vato, little champion. crossed green eyes, black medium length fur, floofy tail... just took over. i hope he learns as much from bubba as he has learned from me. smart lil cattie. different from bubba--no webbed feets. chico da vato is a mexican cat of the mountains.
bubba is still a maine coon mix now wondering if he will get a single nights peace.

both are excellent watchers. and good judges of character. they carefully guard their mom.

Exactly what I was thinkin'. There'd be no assigning feelings if Rocky the bulldog ever met them. Only a serious ass-whoopin' that my miniaturized, wanna be pit bull would not soon forget!

Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

yes this lil black mexicat is a hellion and real scrapper. bubba no likee, and we are a year into this mayhem. chico has finally figured out how to climb ladder to outside... ok that used to be bubbas safe place.
now i have 2 perimeter checking catties.
still working on socializing chico to humans slightly. want him less hidey and more shreddy, like bubba. bubba doesnot like humans much, nor does chico--but the difference in reactivity is hylarryus. mucho entertainment, amidst the fighting and screaming. i think most of noise now is for show. they each make sure i am dealing with the needs of the other, and chico cannot stand being out of sight of me or bubba. screams bludi hell. so many sounds --similar to siamese yowling. thankfully bubba is a silent kitty.

Can't we discuss something less polarizing like ground tackle.

A steel anchor weighs 15% less when submerged.
An aluminum anchor weighs 38% less when submerged.
I think "manly anchor" and "girly anchor" are sexist labels.

More weight in anchor, less in chain.

.... I thought so.... please don't ask me to justify this by directing you to the relevant thread.

As I said before, replace these, get some real cats.

Re: Single Women Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look

Thanks for posting them.

Bubba da porthole cat is my favorite one, ridiculously cute. Chico sounds like a nice fit really, port and stbd watchcats - nice. Seems it takes a while for animals to warm up to eachother.

Have they had the treat of a flying fish on deck yet? Now that should be all out war between em, haaa!

Zee I hope you're soaking up some sweet mexican winter weather. Currently 55f, but blowing 14kts, gusting in the 20s, so it's frickin freezin here in the SF bay! However, I seem to be coping with it by visualizing being anchored nearby you with a panga driving out to deliver al pastor tacos and margaritas! Got any good Maz shots to add to my therapy?

Thanks goat. What on earth is that girl feeding the pigeons? Must be 30-40 surrounding her!
How have the air and water temp been? Any cool marinelife encounters to share?

Recently, I had a big old curious sea lion surface up just over my shoulder on my kayak, scared the bejeezus out of me, lol, sure glad it wasn't whitey!
