Marina Del Sol Corpus Christi

Probably a long shot here but has anyone lived aboard in Marina Del Sol in Corpus Christi? Wondering about depth and whatever other experiences you might have had. New to the liveaboard life and found a place where we are allowed to live now just trying to get some info on it. (yes we are going to look at it and all that but trying to get a head start.)

Thanks,

Logan

Are you sure they take liveaboards? I thought that marina was associated with the condos.

If it doesnt work out, the Corpus marina is right down the street and they accept liveaboards.

Yes I confirmed it. It’s a private owner of one of the slips. The Corpus Christi Marina was where we were trying to get in. They told us they were cutting from 20 down to 15 liveaboards so it was an estimated 2 year wait

from what I’ve gathered the slips are no longer tied to the condos but a separate HOA

Hmm, with all of the area marinas either going away from liveaboards, or reducing the number allowed, just surprised that a marina behind a condo would allow it. Just be sure to confirm with local management. You might find you can stay onboard overnight, but limited days per month. I had liveaboard friends in the Island Moorings Marina, Port Aransas, who got pushed out of that marina by management, and then hurricane Harvey and none of them mentioned Marina Del Sol as an option. BTW, Island Moorings is no liveaboard, and the Port A city marina is limited number.

Interesting about Marina Del Sol. I looked at that as a possibility Post Harvey but didn't really care for the location. Currently in the City Marina which is walking distance to a lot of stuff.

I know 2 liveabords who've moved on (job xfer, great loop) in the last few months. Maybe that got them down to their quota. But this is 2 on just my dock. I don't know everyone.

Cove harbor in Rockport is accepting livaboards.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah we are really trying to stay in the corpus area. My wife took a job as a vet here in corpus. The Port Aransas City Marina said they had two slots open as well I believe. Thats just a long drive every day back and forth from Corpus.

You might look at Bahia Marina in Ingelside (Across the bridges toward Aransas Pass.

While I would be all in for anchoring out my wife needs to have some of the finer things in life(and clean up every day after work) So anchoring is out of the question for now.

Just FYI, my parents are in independent living high rise downtown Corpus, and we are in Port Aransas. It's pretty much a 45 minute drive.
