BVI Flag in the EU

Hello there,

I am a US person ( non-us citizen ) living in Florida. I am buying a boat in the EU and thinking of registering it to BVI. It seems BVI is friendly to register boats and the process seems easy.

Anybody went this route? Buy a boat in EU or anywhere, register it to BVI?

I guess entry/exit wouldn’t be a problem in the EU and the Med. 18 month temp. importation thing will apply and it’ll reset the moment you leave EU waters.

The other question I wanna ask is.. register the boat to my name and address in the US or under a company in BVI ? I guess for company registrations I would need to form a holding company in BVI.

I appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this.
