Aluminum Hull Antifouling

Seeking your experience with antifouling for Aluminum Hulls.
Our hull is aluminum and has heavy epoxy coat. We tried Blue Water Paint (copper thiocyanate ) Not impressed and has now washed completely away.
Sherman Williams SeaVoyage ? Anyone tried this?
Tried Interlux Pacifica Plus on our dinghy. Fair results, not great.
The manatee crew does a good job scraping the bottom but now they want to be paid in imported beer and hand tossed pizza.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Mark

Re: Aluminum Hull Antifouling

Mark,

I use International Trilux 33, I believe this is the best rating antifoul in Australia for aluminium. It is as effective as black board paint but a lot more expensive! I have a hookah built into the yacht and go over the side every now and then to give the hull a clean. Thankfully with hard chines I am dealing with flat surfaces. I have discussed aluminium paint products with friends at the boat yards and all agree that anything associated with paint is the only problem with aluminium. Thankfully I don't mind checking the bottom, so it is something I can live with.

Mark I am nor surprised about your crew getting sick of the scrubbing. When you told them you were going to pay them in lettuce I think you got your wires crossed.
I agree with Diamond_Esp my clients like Trilux 33 and it seems to work well in Australia but it costs a big wad of lettuce ($339Au for 4 litres).
Cheers

Re: Aluminum Hull Antifouling

I have been a Trilux 33 user. I wasn't all that impressed with the efficacy, but this is probably the same for all aluminium antifoul.

Anyway, last year I changed to Vivid Pettit and I liked it better - much easier to wipe slime and algae and occasional barnacles off.
