Re: Source for valve needle?

There a lot of partially correct answers here. This is almost certainly a chinese copy of a Mikuni or Keihin carb. A lot look the same but the dimensions and weight are what matter. Brass is not always better – replace it with something similar to the one you have. Brass used to be popular because it is soft to help it seal and somewhat corrosion resistant, but with the move to Viton tips for the sealing part, the body was changed to a lighter material so that there is less gravitational effect trying to drop downwards away from the seat. The float leverage on your carb may or may not be sufficient for a brass float needle + brass are more difficult to source. The needle needs to heavy enough to drop with the float but not so heavy that it tends to be vibrated off of the seat. Check the seat also. It may or may not be replaceable but, if it is, take a close look and consider replacing the seat and needle as a pair. I would take it to a motorcycle or outboard service shop and ask if they can match it – the service guys are probably a better bet than the parts guys who just look things up by manufacturer. A small shop is your best bet, not a big dealer. What about the place you got the outboard? Another thought is that the chinese often copied Honda engines. If you can identify the corresponding Honda engine, that might be a good place to start. Yet another thought - contact jetsrus.com they might just know what you need. Sorry for the block of text - I can't get line breaks to work.

Guess that makes sense - why tool up to make your own widget when you can buy em from a widget specialist?
I googled this, since you didn't provide more info. Is it a 3.5 or 3.6 hours?
Here's a link to hangkai parts.

I've recently replace several carbs that are for chain saws, and carbs are cheap for these things.
Check and see if you can find one here.

Re: Source for valve needle?

That’s the float needle. Very common part really. Some like Holley are made of brass.
The rubber tips go hard cause the Chinese version of fuel proof rubber is good humour.
However the double ended or single ended float needle are very universal. Any motorcycle shop small motor shop or chandlery should have bins of them.
