Re: Lost fluid in gearbox and stranded on an island.

In absolute emergency we have used the outboard to get us out of a tight squeeze before but 30Nm is out of the question. The boat weighs over 20 tonne, a 3.5hp engine pushes it at about 1.5kts on a good day. We had thought of trying to rig a temporary cooler, however the hoses are not long enough to make any difference and can't be extended as they are swaged high pressure hydraulic fittings.
We are looking at the weather forecast and hoping for a bit of breeze on Friday. Fingers crossed.
A local contact is looking for a replacement and COR Coolers in Brisbane are calling back today with a view to ship one to Tioman for us.
