2 stroke nissan oil

Went on an ocean run Saturday and today was able to find time to run the ear muffs with hose water through the motor to clean out any salt buildup.
I noticed water running down had some oil in it. Wondering if this is normal, or not?
The motor does not have a separate oil reservoir, it is mixed 50to1 with the gas.
Had no problems with the motor on the run, but we did hit some mud bottom at one point, not enough to stall the motor, and no visible damage, and it ran fine after.
