Hello,
1. The boat/trailer has been import into Canada, near Woodstock,NB by the border, boat/traile still register in the US (have the titles).
2. Includes dagger (good shape) and rubber [rudder] (could a fresh coat of epoxy and paint)
3. I can't [assemble] because requires multiple people or a fork lift/tractor to assemble, easy assemble with a fork lift (google online for Contour 30 and 34)
4. The boat doesn't leak but the amas should have the work that i specified in the auction
5. No, as far as I know [leaks?]
6. Sails are in good shape

Having dealt with importing our 36' tri, which was a legal transaction with all paperwork and a customs broker, etc... I'll not go a step further with this one. It's imported yet he has the US registration....

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

It's a scam. If you contact them (I did) they insist that you contact them using your email (not via Craigslist). If you search around you'll see that the boat is supposedly in 3 or 4 different locations around the country. "If something looks too good to be true, it probably is" applies.

Hopefully you are all reporting this back to CL so they can delete that users account. Report fraud every chance you get on CL!

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

pop yachts also has a farrier command 10 listed for 30k (80's cruising oriented design in chine ply & epoxy, not really at all similar to the f32 as the ad insinuates). I'd be curious to know more about the weight & built quality (looks good initially but possibly a few extra lbs onboard), and why it ended up in Nevada. (Possibly Colorado but I think more likely Boulder City, NV). 17ft tall on trailer as it sits on cradle, so sounds like crossbeams and amas may have to be demounted, new lower trailer, etc.. to move any distance.

Wow! I have an original set of plans for a Command 10, and I could not possibly build a new - ply - version, for what this boat is going for, fully built.

If I have a spare $30K I'd be on the next plane to the States.

Sigh.

Last one of these (and very few were ever built) was in Oz a couple of years ago and it was on market for AUS$80K.

Makes this Nevada one half-price...!!!!

Someone buy it, please....

Their and there and I did it twice. This is what I get for posting before I drank my first cup of coffee. I feel like a maroon.

Custom 22' catamaran by Mark Gumprecht, 2005, Hatteras, North Carolina

Was $7,500 last spring down to $4k. Looks like a good deal for a pocket cruiser.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

The Command ten is in lake Mead, the keel had a leak and he added a rough mini keel. The build is a little heavy but a lot of boat. Funny I offered $35k once, but the owner said his wife didn't like me, so go figure!

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

When I spoke to the Gumprecht 22 owner possibly 6 months ago , he said the previous owner never sailed it and neither had he. Given the 8' beam one might really want to find out how tender the design is before buying. Find the builder and you might get an answer. Other designs with similar beam (Goug 32, etc) were prone to capsize whereas beamier designs (Hirondelle, etc) were safer bets.

Also, the starboard transom rot was evident back then. During our conversation I mentioned the owner should make the repair soon to prevent its creep. His response then was of surprise that it could get worse.

That said, anyone handy with wood, epoxy and glass and negotiating skills might get a great deal.
