I'm thinking of buying one of these, if and when they come on the market somewhere on the west coast. I'd consider a Woods design too, but they're not out here. That said, I would be very interested in hearing from Richard Woods on production cats that he wouldn't mind owning. Schoonerdog and others, please chime in. There are more knowledgeable catamaran and trimaran folks on this site than one could shake the proverbial stick at.
The mission is to have a rock solid potential bluewater cruiser that I could take from California to Hawaii and back without going far over 200K U.S.D.

There's a couple of FP Venezia's on the market now that could probably be bought for ~$200K - The one in Alemeda has brand new engines.

I might be biased but a Seawind 1000 will do CA to HI, and near new (as in under 5 years old) should get it for round 200000

How is the performance?

I went for my first Cat sail the other day in Redcliff on a Windspeed 40
with the designer/builder

that boat slid through the water like it wanted to.

Even as the wind was dieing on sunset we were doing 7.5k in only 5k breeze.

trouble is it is twice the price.

I love that boat, but would add to the length of the transoms to make it a 1000XL.
Come on Richard Woods. Tell us your fave production cats or trimarans. It would be nice to see Chris White, Ian Farrier and others also give their list of boats they like and the reasons.
