Re: Looking for Male Sailing Partner in Annapolis

surprised you didn't mention no smoking. that would be a biggie for me.

It would take a rare person to live aboard in Annapolis in winter and keep the boat ready to sail let alone be "squared away in the head".

What do you mean when you say in the 1st sentence ..Annapolis has a SAILING PROBLEM.
I know Annapolis is loaded with drunks because I grew up on South River in the 50's and my father was one of the drunks.
Not sure what you mean by SAILING PROBLEM?

"Annapolis is a drinking town with a sailing problem.", I think you will find is a classic paraprosdokian. ( for your amusement, here's a few more https://www.englishforums.com/conten...rosdokians.htm )

Yes a joke. Another example with a structure and punchline quite similar to the original comment. I went to see a fight but a hockey game broke out.

I don't think Red Marine 28 (Steve) is interested in taking any responsibility for where the person my decide to be for the weekend.

This seems like a clear and generous offer for someone to spend the weekdays in Annapolis center where a small commuter apartment would be very expensive. I can imagine a match for some young single guy with a long commute to a weekday job and a home opportunity well outside of Annapolis. Young people that don't drink and have long commutes to weekday jobs in a town center are not so rare.

I don't see any reason to complicate the offer. 'good luck, Steve
