I don't see any mention of what your budget is.

We have an Island Packet and it's a beauty - and definitely built for blue water. We also searched for a NAFTA boat and there is precious little to choose from that is less than 15-20 years old. As for GST etc, be careful taking advice from anyone on this forum who hasn't actually done the registration process and imported a boat into Canada. Ask Revenue Canada if you want clarification - don't take the word of those on the forum who may be just offering opinions.

We registered our boat in Canada but it is moored in USA. Haven't paid any taxes yet but if we do bring it into Canada, HST and PST would be due. So we're content with sailing in USA waters.

SOUTHERLY YACHTS: One of the biggest sailboat names in British boat building, Southerly Yachts, has folded again, writes Barry Pickthall.

They are trading.. have been trading a while now. They have just launched a new 36 so maybe they are healthy under this phoenix company.

These chintzy renderings can be pretty amusing... Judging by the relative scale of those figures in the cockpit, that has to be by far The Largest 36-Footer Ever Built...

To add to the list, Bristol 42.2, but why soooo large...would also add the Bristol 35.5...albeit no longer in production.
For characteristics of an offshore yacht, would recommend J Rousmaniere's book, Desirable and Undesirable Characteristics of Offshore Yachts. Written by the technical committee of the cruising club of America, including O Stephens, R McCurdy, W Lapworth, B Shaw and more...

They have been in and out of bankruptcy for some years but I would not buy a boat for them since one of the last boats had to be finished by the owner at is own costs. I heard that story from the owner on this or another forum.

The interior looks a bit posh to me and I would say that it could be better designed, even so it is an interesting boat with a uninteresting price.

I don't know Jon,

I just took a ruler to that guy in blue and to the boat. Assuming that guy is 6', then the boat would be a tad over 41'.

Not everyone can make a boat look as small as you...

LOL ..... I think that I am just too much fixated on the Outbound. Going by whatever I could find out about all the boats mentioned, none seem to come close to how the Outbound speaks to me.
Of course it requires a lottery win to buy a new Outbound and since my sailing is basically coastal this may not go very far .... but D R O O L ...
