Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
The Cascasde 42 HS is an all around larger boat. Those numbers don't seem to be to far a part but the 42 HS feels like a larger boat because of the rear cockpit. The center cock pit makes the standard 42 seem small. The rear cabin is very small for a 42 because of the narrow stern. Both are good boats but according to sailboat data they wouldn't be comfortable in rough seas. I've never been out in either version but I have stepped aboard a couple to have a look see.

I agree about the radar - wrong place for it.
But there is nothing wrong with a Sole (Mitsubishi based) engine. I have one as well and everybody I know with them have nothing bad to say about them.

I have a Cascade 42 and have been aboard the one in Astoria.
Needs new electronics, sails and autopilot. From what I could tell during my short visit looked well built. Was the third Cascade built by original owner. Current owner REALLY needs to sale it.
