Good deal for this boat if what he says is true. These are the old Hans Christian 36's. The plus with these is they did not have the sorrowful teak decks!

This seller is not just a dreamer but a raving lunatic. Or simply misplaced the commas in price. $2,750.00 as an opening bid sounds about right.

40 ft Hughes sailing ketch - $14,000 (Sonora Mexico)
This one is a little sketchy, but might be worth checking out if you're careful.

When it says Sonora Mexico, it's probably Guaymas and in a yard. The picture might be of it in it's hay day. It might be on the hard and has been for a long time, like a lot of forgotten dreams down there.

$15,000? And only a photo of the transom?
Someone has to truck it somewhere where it can be fixed up, and presumably all the systems need replacement.
If the sails and rig are good, if the engine is good, it might be worth getting.
There must be hundreds of these stalled projects that have run out of lifetime.

At first I wasn't even going to post this one, but then I figured that someone might be interested in contacting the owner and getting a little more info on it. At that price and if the interior is gutted, I wouldn't give them half of what they are asking.

I know the boat and owner. Boat has been on the hard for 20 + years. Refit started because of deck rot.

I absolutely agree. Also, I am constantly surprised by the people who post a boat for sale with one, none or ancient photos. None of the present state of it. I've often seen this for people asking, for what to me, is a significant price of over $40K.
