Here's a real find! A rare one too! Knowledgeable owner will also include sailing lessons, should you decide to buy:

more of a motor-sailer that one.
But they do go well to windward I believe!

Okay, this one actually probably won't go directly into the wind, but the people who built these laid them up pretty solidly.
They normally sell for much more. Makes me a bit suspicious.

I'd say that was a fair price for an unusual older 28 foot boat in tired condition that needs engine work and replacement tankage. It has some nice features and gear but needs an owner who has the skills, time and money to fix her up.

And it will still be an unusual 35 year-old boat.

Nothing wrong with unusual. Everyone doesn't want a Catalina!

A “sailboat” in Miami with mountains in the background.

Found this in my daily searching, free sailboat: https://smd.craigslist.org/boa/d/sol...122142493.html

What is "bill of sale only" mean? Something to avoid?

Probably abandoned

Plenty of gear to make money out of. Just the favors alone are worth money

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

I hesitated to include this ad previously because of the words of the owner, although the boat looks nice.

CS 36, decent engine, <5' draft, some good gear for an older boat, although you'll have to spend some money on better ground tackle and perhaps a windlass.
This is a typical well looked-after lake boat with cruising potential.

Oh, and it's been for sale for a long time.

Would like to hear if anybody has used information obtained from this thread to purchase their sailboat?

CS boats of all sizes are well designed and built. Inexpensive for a 36T

Current exchange is just over 31k US.

Who cares? It's fun and time spent looking at boat is not subtracted from your life.

I think it is a great thread and I am using it as part of my own search. Was looking for someone who has used it to provide feedback on the process - how'd it go? Any lessons learned, etc.

I would guess that you won't find too many people on this thread that have purchased a boat through it. I'm one of the people looking for a boat and after I find one, you probably won't find me looking here much, if at all.
