Roger that. How hard would it be to get to your boat with thousands (millions) of people bugging out at the same time?

A town I lived in got evacuated for wild fires a couple years ago. 80,000 people jumped in their cars to bugger off. A lot didn't have enough fuel to get out of the evacuated zone. I was on a 5th floor condo building and just watched the vehicles parked on the freeway while surrounded by Hell. Miraculously there was only one fatality, but it was a camp type town where 90% of the people have been trained in all manner of safety scenarios and there was massive help available.

On an unrelated note, how well stocked is your boat? Errrr... once again, asking for a friend.

it is normally a 20 min drive but it would just mean a 6 hour bike ride to it . Back roads and all. The best part for me is nobody knows what's on my boat but me.
Alternatively a friend would drop me at my boat on the way to his big boat. We both are about a 20 min walk from his small boat. And lots of open water from there to our destinations.

When we lived in center city Philadelphia the boat was docked in the water all year round at Delaware City. I kept a Porta Boat in the city and it was 3 blocks to the Schuylkill river. I figured it would take me 2 or 3 tides to get to the boat.

Not fun but beats the dickens out of gun fights. Doable.

We never hauled the boat for the winter but stayed on her frequently and maintained her in ready to go condition. Of course she would get hauled for maintenance once in a while.

The last few years we both worked every other week and then lived on the boat in the meantime, down to +1F. We just used a 2 amp charger to keep the Espar running. We could have used the Honda to charge batteries but got lazy.
