Re: Apparently sea shanties are a trending thing.
Two (in my opinion) really good recent movies are set in coastal towns and feature sea shanties, in case you're interested.
Fisherman's Friends [cutesy Brit romantic dramedy] and Blow the Man Down [darkly funny U.S. drama set in Maine—if I could overlook the atrocious attempts at the Downeast accent, so can you. ayuh]

Nice! Love me a sea shanty, or general British/Irish traditional music. Good stuff.

Our family sings them when we are on the water. I’m sure they are more fun for us than those around us as we are not vocally gifted.

Re: Apparently sea shanties are a trending thing.
I was in a band that performed sea shanties and songs of the sea. Lasted two years, and we had some memorable gigs, including singing aboard some of the ships at Tall Ships Duluth.
I've been remastering one of our videos. Maybe I should put it on tiktok.

Is this a tik tok promotion and Guardian wanting donations for political causes?
I just do not trust social media with possible subtle political agendas......

Re: Apparently sea shanties are a trending thing.
It's good to know people are finally catching on to the trends I am setting.
(Not me in the video, I just like the song.)
