    Hi, Jammer.
My previous boat was the same model Hunter as yours. I wanted to share some info on a solution thatís better than my current insulated backstay antenna.

Every insulated backstay owner has to periodically climb the backstay to clean the connection between the antenna lead and the backstay. A catamaran sailor I know ran a wire inside pex from his tuner up to a line running to his masthead. Youíre supposed to stay four feet from the masthead.

His antenna is just the wire inside the pex, so thereís no connection to clean. If you used GTO-15 for your lead/antenna you would not shock your crew when transmitting.

Best of luck setting up your rig!
    Steve (smallFry)
