Marina recommendation south of Edisto, SC.

Soon I'll be sailing south out of Charleston SC. After stopping at Edisto for the first night I want to make a stop somewhere that has a good restaurant/bar and good ocean access. Does anybody want to make a recommendation?

To clarify, I'm not going past Amelia Island before turning around and going back to Charleston. It's just a short trip and I'm looking for good places to stop and spend the night with good food/fun for a group.

Try Skull Creek Marina on the North end of Hilton Head Island.

Nice marina with several very pleasant restaurants very near.

Try for example, the Old Fort Pub.

If you are just doing a pleasure cruise, I would make it Hilton Head if you are looking for food and booze.

HH is looking like a good place to stop for me. Is Harbor Town the preferred marina over Skull Creek?

Don't know Skull Creek, but stopped two nights in Harbor Town Yacht Basin last November. Restaurants are right there and some touristy shops and museum/light house. Rented bikes from the convenience store and had a great time. Also rented rackets and played tennis for an hour in the morning before departing.

Next stop after Edisto is Beaufort..either anchor or stay at Downtown Marina...many restaurants and bars along waterfront. HH is pricey but nice. I think the going rate is $2.25/ ft plus power but good restaurants and bars in Harbour Town. Next down the way is Thunder Bolt on the ICW at Savannah. Nearest bar/rest is about a mile's walk but economical and good food. Can't remember the name. After you leave Savannah going south is Isle of Hope marina then the long trek to Jekyll Marina, good rest. and bar and finally Fernandina Beach, lovely town with oldest bar in US , or so they claim and many good restaurants...good sailing.

Thank you all for taking time to reply. Based on your advice I'll plan to stop at Harbor Town after Edisto. I'll skip Beaufort this time since it's pretty far up river.

The palace saloon is old, but doubt it is the oldest. Fun place though.
