Best Chesapeake Cruising Bars (and restaurants)

Folks,

I was wondering if I could solicit some suggestions on favorite bars and, to a lesser extent, restaurants in the Chesapeake that are on the water/accessible by dinghy. My knowledge is pretty limited...been all over Annapolis, spent an afternoon in Havre de Grace, and had a few at the Tiki Bar in Solomons, but that is about the extent of it. Heading down there for a few weeks in the spring and would love to make the rounds.

In the northern Chesapeake Bay......
On the C&D canal
Try the Chesapeake Inn Chesapeake Inn | Martuscelli & Sons

@ Fairlee Creek Try Jellyfish Joel's, It is a little tricky to get into Fairlee Creek but well worth it. Its a real tight approach with a beach 10' off your starboard side and a 90 degree turn in a fast current. All this while non boaters look on from said beach waiting for you to run aground. On the Northeast River I always stop at the Nautigoose Saloon Nauti-Goose This is at the head of the North East River and a great place to watch the July 3'rd fireworks, anchored out.

On the Sassafras River you should check out The Granary. The Granary Restaurant

Southern Bay here.

Aqua Restaurant at Bayside Marina, north of Cape Charles, and
Kelly's Gingernut Pub in Cape Charles VA (by dinghy might be difficult, unless you anchor near and walk from Bayside Marina).

Can be fun at Pelican Pub beach bar south of Kiptopeke Beach.

Eight posts so far and nobody's mentioned KENT ISLAND?? For shame!

There are tons of bars and restaurants in and about the Kent Island Narrows.

One of my all-time favorites is The Jetty Dock Bar: good food and a great Tiki Bar right on the water. Live music, too. Jetty Dock Bar: index

And, I suppose no listing of great bars/restaurants in Annapolis is complete without mentioning Marmadukes (AKA "Dukes") in Eastport and Riordan's near Ego Alley. Sadly, both are now history and, I believe, due mostly to bad business decisions in both cases :-(

Annapolis sailors are the worse for it, too. But, some of us still remember!

Kent Narrows is pretty shallow for me.

Has anyone said Cantler's riverside inn? You can dock for free and eat outside. I also like Davis' in Eastport.

Cantler's is a tourist-trap pit. $80/dozen for steamers on dirty, wobbly picnic tables with indifferent service is not a good experience.

I'll third Davis' in Eastport. Also just a couple of blocks from Davis' is the Boatyard. It is a popular hang out for liveaboards and cruisers.

Big Mary's Dock Bar in season on the West River. Live entertainment and reasonably priced drinks. Dinner next door at Pirate's Cove beforehand ain't bad neither.

In Annapolis downtown, Armadillos is one of our favorites. But walk uptown to Stan & Joes. Good music and fun people.

I just pulled out an old pack of matches from Marmadukes the other day, to light a candle. I spent many a happy hour there back in the 80's, when I lived aboard in Eastport. Riordans was also a favorite place to go for happy hour and oysters ($.50 per oyster as I recall), too bad they are gone. What about the crab claw? in St. Michaels, is that still there? I also enjoyed the Tiki Hut in Soloman's; I anchored in front of it many times.
