Re: MANTUS MARINE GIVEAWAY - ends July 2, 2020

It would be nice to try the M2, should fit well in the original anchor roller on my bowsprit. Currently have the M1 in a Mantus anchor roller at the end of the bowsprit, works, but not ideal.

Already have a Mantus anchor and have never had an issue after over 1,500 nights at anchor in all types of bottoms and wx conditions.

Re: MANTUS MARINE GIVEAWAY - ends July 2, 2020

I have been lusting after the dinghy anchor for a while now. Shame that they are out of the bags that complete the kit right now. We have the snubber bridle and the bag is extremely handy for that too.

We currently own a 45lb M1 anchor, a swivel, matching bow roller, snubber bridle with M1 chain hook, a stern anchor mount, and a number of other Mantus gadgets such as the handy rail mounts and even a Mantus bottle opener I won from Greg at one of his seminars for answering a question fast

Love all of the above Mantus products.

Re: MANTUS MARINE GIVEAWAY - ends July 2, 2020

This is my Mantus wish list if I were fortunate enough to win one of their Giveaway prizes.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mantus-scuba/

In a compact, easily storable and quick to don package, this system provides an additional layer of safety in the event of a flooded hull or overturned vessel. It also offers a quick way to check the anchor set in deeper water, un-foul a prop or examine below the waterline for any number of reasons. I’ve been meaning to set up my two pony bottles in a similar fashion but this Mantus system would be better.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/m2-chain-hook/

I’ve heard from other cruisers who use this latest edition of the Mantus Hook that it is the hot trick set-up for quickly and solidly connecting a bridle or anchor snubber.
The rig I use now works but not without a bit of hassle and certainly not as quickly as I would want.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mooring-snap-shackle/

This is intriguing. If it closes easily with one hand while the bow is bouncing up and down or the boat is being pulled relentlessly astern by a monster current (can you say “St. Augustine mooring field”?) then it could be a welcome addition to our ground tackle gear.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/product/mantus-rope-clip/

A elegant solution to stowing docklines neatly and out of the way. We currently use a much less attractive vinyl strap/metal twist lock combo that works but in a less clever design.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/bow-roller/

We have three anchors for various conditions/circumstances. Only the primary is mounted, ready to deploy. IMO whatever anchors you have on board are best stowed ready to use, with the possible exception of a massive storm anchor. Our boat came with an additional light weight anchor roller that I have used to deploy an anchor but it is too flimsy to stow one on. This Mantus bow-roller is much more robust and is where I would stow our secondary anchor.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mantus-anchor-bracket/

This is where our third anchor would be stowed.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mantus-head-lamp/

I like the big, easily accessible control buttons on this head lamp plus it’s waterproof capabilities. We currently use Petzl head lamps which are very good but I like this design better.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/

For anyone interested in seeing the items on my list, this is the Mantus website.

Big wish list, big plans for cruising farther south this next season!

I lost my headlamp not too long ago and this would be a great replacement. I would have to keep my eye on it and probably keep it on the boat as my wife would use it to go out and feed the donkeys on winter evenings.

https://www.mantusmarine.com/mantus-dinghy-anchor/
We use a little bruce type anchor for our dinghy now and my experience with a Mantus on our trawler convinces that this would be much better.

Re: MANTUS MARINE GIVEAWAY - ends July 2, 2020

I've lived aboard and sailed before without a Mantus, and dragging is no fun at 2:00am with a 45 knot breeze coming through the anchorage. This time, I hope to set sail with Mantus so I can have some peace of mind and get some sleep.

just bought a dinghy anchor kit, look forward to using it.

getting an anchor for the boat itself would be wonderful:
