This is one of those magic triangle situations:

You can only choose two.

SwanPOL-

The thing you might not see is that these fittings can be re-used and re-used again and again.
So while it has cost- like anything that is made of quality materials to a high finish quality and in small yachty quantities- these fitting provide many years of service and multiple rig swaps.

So seems pretty reasonable given the lifespan..

TheYachtRigger: what is the life expectancy of the fittings?

Hard to say, but somewhere in the 15-20 year range, depending on conditions, maybe 25 -30 in fresh water.

As I understand it Dyneema standing rigging has a recommended replacement period of 6-10 years depending on conditions- so these fittings should provide 2 or 3 full rig replacements.

So any cost should be divided by at least 2.

That certainly helps the cost situation.

Are these intended to interact directly with an existing wire standing rig system: same turnbuckles and mast fittings correct?

(Assuming they are in serviceable condition)

That is correct, they are designed to be direct replacements. Hence the wide variety of fittings. We even recently added shroud terminals (lollipop) fittings to the line.
So essentially they remove the need to modify rig components, saving you more $$.

Re: Dyneema rigging fittings from Blue Wave

Ordered a fitting from Blue Wave in the UK a couple of years ago and used it on my dyneema baby stay. Nice piece of kit.
