In 2005, a new, shining anchor came to the marine market. The ULTRA Anchor quickly established a reputation for excellent holding power and its stainless steel look and finish. While most well-known anchors have evolved from the world’s established maritime nations, the ULTRA Anchor was first designed and manufactured by a little known Turkish engineering firm, based in Istanbul. Perhaps most importantly, it was the passion for engineering and boating of two men, Yılmaz Yucel and Nejat Ovutmen, which led to the development of an anchor that boasts the ultimate in holding power.

Formed in 2000, having been designing and manufacturing stainless steel machine parts since 1978, Boyut Marine changed its name to ULTRA Marine in 2012 after their ULTRA branded products become well known. ULTRA Marine moved into full-scale production, fabricating anchors from 316L stainless steel all completely by hand and in 2016 purchased its USA distribution QuicklineUSA and updated its name to Ultra Marine West.

Today, Yucel and Ovutmen remain, directors of the company with Yucel’s sons, Erkutay Yucel and Erkay Yucel, managing international sales of their products.

Planning a trip to Northern Europe and Mediterranean. Would like the ability to to use stern anchor or shore line also to facilitate med mooring.

Our Leopard 45 is outfitted with the Ultra anchor, swivel, ring and flat rope reel. We are huge fans of Ultra. We are currently in Curacao in heavy winds and I sleep easily at night knowing I have my Ultra anchor set. We are headed to the South Pacific in 2024 (crossing canal in Feb). Our current chain isn't long enough for the S.P. and the way it stacks is problematic. I'd like to round out our Ultra products with the stainless steel chain. Thanks! Dave

I've been looking for a replacement for my current bower, and I think a new Ultra Anchor paired with the Ultra Flip Swivel would make a superior combination for ground tackle. I'm a fan of delta plows in general, and I've seen swivels in action on the bottom work to help an anchor set fast.

From what I can see, the Ultra product is superior to any other plow on the market. It gets my vote!
