Best source for deep cycle/Golf Car batteries

Hi all,

As Sam's club appears to be sold out of GC batteries near me, I'm curious if you all know any other well-priced sources for buying true deep cycle and golf cart batteries. The big chain auto parts stores are advertising "deep cycle" batteries that are not actually deep cycle. Lowe's appears to have some of the true deep cycle Deka's but they are order to store only.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks Zeehag. I'm seeing a few of these mail order guys online. These guys the Alt-E store have an amazing selection, but shipping is pricey. Might just have to bite the bullet.

I'm sure you're right, 'cuz there are no boaters or golf clubs anywhere near The Naked City.
Oh, and you forgot the most important:

PIZZA

Ugh, how could I forget pizza?

It's true. NYC is almost entirely devoid of marine services. I've been keeping my sailboat in Brooklyn since 2016 and can attest to this. The Hudson Valley is a tad easier, but sailboats (especially big cruising sailboats) are odd ducks up here.

Also, curious if anyone has had any luck with these on a boat. Only slightly more expensive than GC's and you can have them shipped to Home Depot.

I see, no golf courses "up there" either?

Not sure exaclty where you are and since the Hudson valley is very extensive, driving to other Sam's Clubs may be more economical than getting them shipped. At $89 for these East Penn/Deka made, I doubt anyone else can beat the price.

Re: Best source for deep cycle/Golf Car batteries

I've found that your local privately-owned mom-and-pop battery store can be a good source. In my experience, they are always having sales to clear out inventory so they can bring in new. Plus, you are supporting local businesses. My Crown GCs have lasted 8 years from such a place, but I assume if I ever had a problem, I could probably bring them back in and talk face-to-face with a human that knows a thing or two about batteries, and get the situation quickly resolved.
Spend the extra $5 and support your neighbor...

Try looking on Amazon. I was able to get 6V GC AGMs at a good price and free shipping. I do have Amazon Prime, which might make a difference.

I have also heard from friends that they get flooded GC batteries from NAPA stores.
