Posts like this are very dangerous for young single cruising guys like myself. Gulp! I have a crew spot maybe for 3 months so in Baja Mexico... but no sailing off forever :-/

Anyway..
Im a fast learner, forward, very fit, loving good vibes, loving nature and sceneries, sunsets.. what else..? Oh i like jeff bridges.. Bare in mind if you cant stand the man, you and i will not get on for sure.

If you are interested in my humble self, got room on a boat, maybe even know of a friend who would, please drop me a line, prefer a pm, and i'll tell you more about myself (maybe even send you a boobie pic, but only if you are really really special) and answer any questions you have.

Another thing, i know sailors are cool and have great sense of homor, i hope you appreciate mine.

Cheers for now,

Jenneke
I dont have a great sense of Homor,I dont even know him ,but I would like to see a photo of those boobies...oh yea, I did read the odyssey and the iliad....

Re: clever, sweet girl from holland

I am sure that a great many people on this board would like for this OP to end up being a genuine person. Unfortunately, the odds of that seem quite slim since this is a person is a classic internet ghost who is fresh out of nowhere & didn't even bother to fill out a profile.

I wouldn't take a crew unless he/she has a verifiable background. In the US, it is easy! If a would-be crew carries a TWIC card, a current passport and a current Driver's license...he/she gets the welcome mat; must also be a non-smoker and non-heavy drinker with verifiable family reference. That's all folks!

Just one more piece of ID ya hafta have to get into any US port and a place for another scary lookin' pic of ya. It's short for Transportation Worker Identification Credential.

Re: clever, sweet girl from holland

Hi Dana! In the US, to get a TWIC card, you must show up in person and present your current passport, social security card and a valid driver's license. Your picture and fingerprints are taken. A fee of about $150 USD is to be paid for a first time registrant. After going through all this, the FBI and Homeland Security will do a criminal background check on you. Any previous felonies will disqualify you from having the card. Any psychological issues will also disqualify you. If your background is clean, you'll get a notification to come and pick up your card, within 2-3 weeks; you'll be re-fingerprinted once again. The card is valid for a 5-year duration. If someone is to apply for a Captain's license, he/she MUST have this card. If you are looking for crew, and a person has this card...it means that his/her criminal background has been verified to be clean. The card has a built-in digitized chip, your picture and three differently structured bar codes; practically counterfeit proof.

The bottom line...if I am looking for a US crew, I would want that person to already hold a current TWIC card and a valid passport; criminal background already cleared/checked...good to go!

Mauritz
