VHF w/ Hailer

I'm looking for a VHF/ Hailer that has the fog horn functions. I do not want DSC , unless it is dirt cheap! Anyone out there that recently (or even not recently) has bought a new VHF and want to part with their old one.

The main objective is to get the fog horn functions. I do not really need another VHF.

Thanks.

Get a real horn. (Notice the horn controls in the middle of the panel, between searchlight and autopilot controls.)

Re: VHF w/ Hailer

I looked into that but the only one I could find was the Fogmate. And that didn't look as user friendly as a vhf hailer. I can not tell in your picture what brand/model that is you have. I like the idea of a dedicated controller. What is it and where did you get it?

I've had this one on a couple boats. Real user friendly and reliable.

Standard Horizon make an excellent standalone hailer.

Re: VHF w/ Hailer

Thanks for the info on the stand alone units. I would really like to keep the price down. A stand alone unit would be great but they're too expensive. That's why I thought I could possibly find an old VHF/hailer that was being replaced by a newer unit. The only reason for this is for the fog horn (and it could be a backup VHF). I don't need an intercom/communications system.

Anyone out there have an old one sitting around in a locker or basement they'd like to sell?
