Re: Weather Routing

The iso chrons no longer display when computing a weather route using WR PI 1.13.39.0 and OpenCPN 5.6.1+1842.1427f287c. Works with OpenCPN 5.6.1+6ab733c73.

I have logged a Bug Report with Flyspray.

Re: Weather Routing

Kevinh, I believe you have turned off isochrones in grib_pi somehow.

Re: Weather Routing

Hi Rick,

I don't think there is any facility to turn on or turn off the WeatherRouting IsoChrons in the GRIB PI. The IsoChron controls are under "Weather Routing - WeatherRoutingConfiguration/View/Settings". I am using the default settings and I have tried checking "Alternates for all IsoChrons" - still no IsoChrons displayed.

The IsoChrons work fine with OpenCPN_5.2.4+1.6b314e6, OpenCPN_5.6.0 and OpenCPN_5.6.1+1641.6ab733c73, but not with OpenCPN_5.6.1+1842.1427f287c. In each case, I did a clean install so there is no hangover from previously installed versions of OpenCPN.

I have gone back to OpenCPN_5.6.1+1641.6ab733c73 and everything is working with this version.

Re: Weather Routing

Yes, don't. know what I was thinking. I find it strange that it is opencpn dependenrf.

Well it is a good thing that the routing works and that it shows the wind directions. Since this seems to be a MacOS issue, I don't have much that I can contribute. Sorry. I've asked Bdbcat about it though.

You are using
Weather routing 1.13.39.0 (current)
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
MacOS Monterey V12.3

Re: Weather Routing

Rick,
I have been on to you about this before.

I am running ;
OS Win 10
OpenCPN 5.6.0
Grib 4.1
Climatology 1.4.39.0
Weatherrouting 1.13.35.0

The problem is that the routing hangs/freezes. You can make it resume if you move the weaterroutning window.
I think I sent you a recording of how it behaves.
The same behavior on 2 of my win 10 PC's.

I realize you may not want to engage in this problem at this time. Get back to me when you
want more input.

/Hans

Re: Weather Routing

hasse_A I have not found a report about this in
https://opencpn.org/flyspray/index.p...ist&project=32
https://github.com/rgleason/weather_routing_pi/issues
or Sean's Issues https://github.com/seandepagnier/wea...ting_pi/issues

Can you please link to that? Thanks.

Did you check the settings? Maybe make the line thickness more?

Re: Weather Routing

Sean, good point. With the most current versions in PIM, I increased the WR View > Settings Isochrone width to 10 on my high res display and they show fine. I also used a compiled version of 5.6.1 with WR, Climatology and Grib and the optimal routes were computing nicely.
There does not seem to be a problem with getting Plugins "jailed" in Windows.

Re: Weather Routing

Is there a value below 10 where they don't show?

At 1, they should be 1 pixel wide... so should still work but I'm curious now.

Sean I was wrong Isochrones are not displaying even at a setting of 10. I mistook the grib pressure isobars... sorry.

I have opengl on.

Perhaps I need to compile it differently?
I get screwed up about local gl ON, etc.

Rick,
Neither can I

After some fiddling I have managed to reproduce the error.
I am computing the lowest configuration in the configuration window.
After hitting the compute button nothing happens until I move the WeatherRouting window. The State is stuck in Waiting until I move it.
After the second move the state changes to Computing and gets stuck there until I do several movements of the window and finally finishes the route.
I have uploaded a screen recording to my dropbox showing the behavior explained above.

Re: Weather Routing

Hans, that is something I don't feel I have too remember. Sorry.

Is this happening all the time, with any configuration and any grib file or is it a specific setup?
If it is only a specific setup, please compress the offending files and upload or send to me at my email. Thanks.
