Toolbar Button Icons Invisible

[Pearson 39-II]

OpenCPN 5.8.4 + 8089 on Raspberry Pi running Raspian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)

On the Toolbar only the Red/White MOB Marker Icon is visible in the full daylight setting of "Color Scheme". Multiple toolbar icons are checked off as seen by right-clicking the hamburger toolbar icon, and they are present and active, just invisible.

By changing the color scheme to dusk and dark settings all of the other icons are visible. But on full daylight color scheme it is as if the icons are black on a black background, so can be detected as present by mouse cursor hover and blindly clicked on but not seen directly, except the MOB one.

FIX: By installing the OpenDraw 1.8.7.1 PlugIn and enabling it, the toolbar button icons become visible in all color scheme settings, including full daylight.

What does this mean? Why is this obscure fix necessary? Is there another U/I setting that takes care of this without employing the PlugIn?

Are you referring to the main toolbar (left vertical bar), or the hamburger tool set?

Hi, Dave. It's the vertical toolbar, left side of screen.
RE: the attached screenshots: one is with opendraw disabled, full daylight brightness [only MOB mark icon visible], next one also opendraw disabled and night brightness [all toolbar icons visible], last one is full daylight brightness and opendraw enabled [onlt MOB mark and the two opendraw icons are visible]

That is, the fix I posted, OpenDraw installed and enabled, no longer works to get all oolbar icons visible at full brightness.

Note also, on the Route window, range to waypoint is stuck at 158.1 nm when the active waypoint is less than a mile away. Activating other waypoints shows correct bearing to wpt, but range is close to the entire route length. In the NMEA0183 RMB sentences the correct bearing and range to wpt are reported. It's looks to be just the user interface range that's incorrect.

Exact same issue for me with the icons on the toolbar.
Latest updates applied.
Running on RPI 4 8Gb Bullseye.
Did not found the plugin you used.
Hope somebody can solve this issue.

Is-it possible to have a solution for this issue.

OpenCPN nearly useless in daylight settings.
Need to switch to night to use it which is ridiculous.

Is-this issue at least recognised and do we have a chance to have it solved?
