@juancho38 Bdbcat has merged a new version into the Plugins Catalog. For RPI Jammy, can you please update PIM master catalog and install and update AISradar and activate it and give it a try? Please let us know if this new version of Jammy works for you!

If RPI is for Raspberry PI, I am not on RASPI, I have a Ubuntu x64.
Nvertheless, I updated PIM master, nothing else is proposed given the list you mentionned earlier.
I could install and uninstall successfully AIS radar view.
I could install and uninstall Test plugin with the following results in case it can help :

Good, that means that Dave's tupple fix for Jammy is working. I can next build the rest of the plugins yet again, so that the Jammy metadata files are corrected and we have working plugins for Jammy. That task will take awhile.

@rgleason I just tested again tactics plugin under ubuntu here. Everything semms to work fine. I could install, uninstall, reinstall plugin. Thanks !!
By the way, I could install Weather routing, which is nice too.

Just the tactics icon on the menu bar is not updated ...

Juanco is it like that when you close opencpn and reopen it?
This shouldn't happen. We may have lost the svg icon.
Do you find svg icons in the data directory for the plugin, using search?

I close opencpn and reopen it, same stuff, the icon is not updated.

I found the following svg files ...
/home/jmp/.local/share/opencpn/plugins/tactics_pi/data/Tactics.svg
/home/jmp/.local/share/opencpn/plugins/tactics_pi/data/Tactics_rollover.svg
/home/jmp/.local/share/opencpn/plugins/tactics_pi/data/Tactics_toggled.svg

win10
OCPN 5.8.4 has been crashing at startup since I updated tactics plugin.


In order to solve I went through quite a hassle.
Deleted \local\opencpn\plugins directory.
Re-installed plugins one by one.

Opencpn 5.8.4 on win10 crashes at startup every time I enable or re-install Tactics.
For a blink of an eye a little rectangular windows pops up, showing messages of files loading fast and then opencpn crashes.


Only way to quickly recover is to delete the tactis subdirectory and tactis -dll from local\opencpn\plugin. Need to delete both or else it would crash again.



No clues from the opencpn.log file either


Any suggestion?

I've enabled the tactics plugin and configured they boats polar. Most things work fine, except the dotted lay lines are pointing the wrong way:

The Polar displays correctly, with vmg triangles. But it is if there lay lines on the boat are for the mark and vice versa?

yeah, same here, fix it by copying the files to an all lower case name: Tactics.svg => tactics.svg
same for the others. works here on several linuxes

Until the code is updated I made a temporay, alpha, fix here:

The format of the polar file is critical. I am using the qtvlm file boat_Imoca2008.csv file.

What is more relevant of the two plugins Tactics and Dashboard Tactics, they are absolutely the same.
Only the second one at least correctly displays the true wind.
Why then two plugins?

They are not. Tactics has just a new set of racing instruments and dashboard_ tactics is Tactics + an old but improved set of Dashboard instruments. Tactics was created by Thomas Rauh and Dashboard_tactics was done by Petri.


During the development of Dashboard_Tactics all of the Tactics instruments were tested and verified and any changes were backported to Tactics.

and how is it now, what is more supported and modern?
my tactics does not display the wind vector at the vessel's position, but dachboard tactics does. So something is wrong with tactics!
