Re: SasPlanet

Thanks, Terry. Much appreciated. Very useful.

I did some more research and here is the most current full release:

http://www.sasgis.org/programs/saspl...net_201212.zip

One must also download this, unzip it and put it in the "Maps" subfolder.

Re: SasPlanet

Thanks, BR. I figured that was the official spot along with sasgis.org.
And thanks for developing the program! Super useful.

Cheers,
Bruce

Baikal could you consider adding the Spanish nautical charts from Ihm as a source to SASplanet?

This guy has them in his project, but SASplanet would be even better:

Multimap(a)s
The Transas map layer is the most complete in comparison with IHM
place the file from the archive in the folder SasPlanet\Maps\sas.maps\Transas

One more.

Transas is working when set as map. I'd like to combine it with Google sat images on shore.
Usually I would set the marine chart as layer and Google maps sat as map to do so.

How can I achieve this if Transas is the map?

Re: SasPlanet

Hi Baikal,
I have a question about the SASP Cache manager. When converting from SAS.Planet cache to SQL_Lite, will it look at subfolders or do I have to do each folder individually (eg., ve, vesat, navionics, etc.).
That seems to be the case.

Thanks.
(And sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.)
Bruce

when exporting to sqldb, mbtiles, you only save the selected map and the layer overlaid on it.
But you can also give combined maps consisting of a satellite image as a main map and an overlay of a nautical map such as Navionics.

If any new source of web maps appears, then it is added if possible.
Now available Navionics, C-MAP, Transas
SasPlanet only reads data from the web map service source. At what, to some extent, these are violations of the terms of use of the web map service, somewhere even closed to public access. They are usually updated regularly.

Thanks. Fully understood.

Hi Baikal,
I don't think I was very clear with my question. Sorry.

I'm using the Operations>Cache Manager to convert an older SAS.Planet formatted cache to a new SQL_Lite cache (the older format is not very efficient when it gets big). But it seems like I have to do one cache map subfolder (vesat, sat, etc.) at a time rather than SASP doing ALL the subfolders if I point the source to the top-level cache folder that contains the SAS.Planet formatted cache.

Thanks,
Bruce

Re: SasPlanet

Bruce,
Sat2Chart has a utility that will iterate through and convert ALL the cache directories at once.
There's a tutorial that covers that, too.
