When quilting is off, you will see that these lines are consistent with the boundaries of the detail charts. So I assumed that this was the chart outline, but see my confusion with the "Chart boundaries" wich you can set to Standard or symbolized... I guess these features should have other names to really reflect the function.

In MaxSea you have "Hide chart outlines" and this removes the lines you see on the samples I have posted.

I will try out the Mariners Standard functions, but I would like to see a more suited name for the switches, closer to what a pro chart system use.

What I love with OpenCPN is the simplicity in the GUI, but this is a bit foggy for me

Ok, i have gone trough the Mariner's Standard and found that CTNARE and M_COVR was the buggers of my charts Removed the check mark on these and the charts look much more decent.

I also did a bummer, I moved the dashboard out of reach... Anyway of resetting this to it's default position without dragging it?

Remove the "AUIPerspective=" line in opencpn.ini/opencpn.conf

See "Location of Important Files. Log and config files." in Installing OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage to find where the ini/conf is located

What version are we on now? This thread is 2.2 Beta test, but the Flyspray categories are 2.3 Stable and 2.4x Beta. According to the download page the stable version is 2.1.0 and the current beta is 2.2 beta build 1211 (except for Fedora/Cent which is still at 1124 and the poor Mac folks who are stuck back at 1.3.6).

Shouldn't the next stable version be 2.2, followed by work on 2.3 beta?

Fabbian....

You caught me in the middle of a Release cycle. It is in process, takes a few hours.

This Release will be 2.3.1214

Next Beta cycle is 2.4.x

Next Release (spring 2011?) is 2.5.???

See the pattern?

All will be setup and clear by tomorrow.

Is it stable versions have odd numbers following the decimal point, beta versions have even numbers? I already figured out the build number was the month and day and was quite proud of myself for that.

Fabbian...

Just so.

Planning to release tomorrow early. Final checks going now.

Flyspray is set up already for the Release and next Beta cycle.

Thanks

Hi gang....

One last check of 2.3.1214 before I throw the switch.

If you would like to help, you may go to

https://sourceforge.net/projects/opencpn/

and go then to "View All Files". Find the 2.3.1214 folder, and try downloading, installing, and quick checking the application, for the O/S of your choice.

Tomorrow, assuming no hiccups, I will mark them as the generally downloadable version, post an announcement, and we are done

Thanks for all you do.

1214 installs and runs fine on Ubuntu 10.10

1214 rpm installs but doesn't run on Fedora because it's built on Ubuntu with different wxWidgets version. I built one on Fedora and uploaded it to opencpn.org, mail sent to Dave.

Thanks all for coding, testing, translating and all your comments to make that great release! Many thanks to Dave for being so responsive, open to suggestions, scratching head for days on AUI or Prolific. You rock!

One remark Dave, the font used in the status line appears a bit to big in the windows version, but looks good in the linux compilation.

Come in mind that I use a 26" monitor at 1680x1050, so when I resize the window it looks better, it looks the same on my secondary monitor wich is 24".

I should maybe mentioned this a bit earlier...
See the screenshot.
Maybe the status line could be a few pixels higher?

Runs smooth on Win7 64bit for the moment...
