Idpnd,

Cagney told me that and he sent me the old files that I have installed. It was working for 2 or 3 days. But yesterday without doing anything, it stops working. I have tried more than 30 times to launch Opencpn and never GPSD was working (also stopped the computer many times). In the evening, without doing anything more, I switch off the computer and go to bed. And this morning I switch on the computer, launch Opencpn... and GPSD is working ! For how long, I don't know.

The same, I don't understand why the Toolbox is opening fine without my 3.5G modem and why it takes a lot of time with it. I would like to recover the fast opening WITH my modem, as I got with Karmic. I use both !

Sounds like some sort of conflict, the usb devices are dynamically assigned, perhaps it gets confused? Try troubleshooting using lsusb in terminal to see what usb device number they are assigned with different combinations of modem and gps plugged in. Also use gpsmon or some other third party software to see if you can read out gps data direct.

117. Implement chart depth unit display in quilt mode, if possible (i.e. all charts in quilt are same units)
118. Limit (again) the maximum underzoom of cm93 charts to accomodate large wide screens.
119. Correct fault found with missing config and chart database on initial startup.
120. Added indication of poor georef solution to chart info box.
121. Correct faults caused by excessive overzoom on some cm93 cells.
122. In Course-Up mode, implement one-shot timer for low definition rotation rendering on mouse pans.
123. Implement "OVERZOOM" indicator in quilt mode.
124. Correct cm93 symbolization of 2 way deep water routes.
125. Disallow quilting mode for all TMerc charts.
126. On sectored lights, allow cursor pick for object query only near light location, not on light sector.

Plan:
A couple of days of testing this code by source builders, then a real Beta with new icons and everything.....

Enjoy
Dave

Dave,

Captured what looks like one of your bug traps in 518. This is on XP from my own build.

Dave,

Here is another problem with 518. Note strange artifacts that do not change size with zooming..

Dave,

Zooming out BSB charts hangs 518.

Build number still at 514 in log and about dialog.

test 518 windows

Hi Dave

Many thanks for this new version and all these improvements
My first tests :
1)About screen shows still 514 . Just to verify if I've not missed something
2) point 118 CM93 under zoom behavior improved but odd screen still happens when moving cursor . under zoom is not limited (see shot 518-1)
2) when starting opencpn with cm93 , then bsb control bar is empty . Once a bsb has been displayed , the problem disappear (see shot 518-2)
3) odd screen when zooming cm93 same as Viking Sailor's #502 (shot 518-3)

continuing tests ...

best regards
Jean Pierre

test 518 windows

Hi Dave

I found 2 problems with route manager while route properties already opened
1)
- select a route and open route properties by the context menu
- open route manager , select a route and open route properties
opencpn is blocked . in debug , no result and in release , I have to cancel opencpn by task manager (it's the same with track)
2)
- select a route and open route properties by the context menu
- open route manager ,select the route shown in the route properties and delete it
- close route manager then close route properties = crash (see shot attached)
the same for tracks

And a small problem when click bouton zoomto : The action is completed only when the route manager is closed ( cc1->Refresh() line 504 seams to solve it )

best regards
Jean Pierre

Can confirm this (both of the problems).
So there need to be a check if the property window is already open or not.

Can't reproduce this. When doing so the correct position comes into view immediately.

bugs in 514 and 518

sats in view not updated in gps status bar does for sats in view 0-4 or 5-8 as described:

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post454488

separate bug...
zooming in and out of s57 causes segfault

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x00007ffff41b6b1f in gdk_region_polygon () from /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0

and finally...

panning s57 chart in quilt mode, when center pixel enters new chart, opencpn switches to bsb even when appropriate s57 is available

test 518 windows

Hi Dave , Gunther

I confirm the zoomto problem (my #506 and gunther#507 ) happens for both Vista and XP , but I must precise it happens only in quilt mode .See shot 518-5 showing a partial zoomto after moving the manager windows . When I click OK , action is completed . Also I can confirm that adding cc1->Refresh() at line 504 fixes it for both OS except for this following point :
On my small notebook under XP , if I zoomto a very small route/track , leading to a very large true scale near 0 , and I start from bsb charts , I get a crash . If for the same route , I start from cm93 , it's quite immediate . I think it's the performance problem I have since the beginning in bsb quilt mode
regards
Jean Pierre

I have the same problem but from bsb to cm93
in the shots attached there are bsb :
- 1/10000 (shot 518-6)
- 1/25000(shot 518-7)
- 1/50000 (not displayed)
- 1/150000 (not displayed)
- 1/161000 (not displayed)
If I drag to the left , opencpn swich to cm93 (shot 518-8)
If I remove the 1/10000 chart from the quilt it no longer happens
