OpenCPN Plugin Poll

Hello all users!


As you know, OpenCPN has lots and lots of plugins. And we think all of them are being used, somewhere, somehow.


As developers, we like to get feedback on how our app is performing, and how it is really being used. For this we need user contact.



So we have organized a little poll to let users vote for their favorite plugin.
"Favorite" can be any definition you like, from "most useful", to "prettiest", or even "coolest". You decide.

The results of the poll will be announced in early January, 2019.

The plugin receiving the most votes will win the Captain's Choice Award for 2018.

I feel like with so many candidates, it should be done with a preferential voting system like australian elections.

The voting is anonymous to all participants except the administrators of the poll, namely the managers of opencpn.org. We plan to tally the results, and discard the email contents and originator addresses at the termination of the poll.

I would have preferred to vote for several plugins by ranking for my 3 favorite plugins.


What will you do if I vote several times for the same plugin? or if I vote with multiple mails for different plugins?

No. They are busy and have their own lives to lead. Their time is precious. Sorry.
You will have to prove yourself by what you do on the forum and programming your new plugin via use of github.
Use the forum. And you should absolutely not be posting your email on this forum.

I suggest you get it deleted by the moderators if you can by contacting them.
I also suggest you learn how to use the program and to read the wiki, including the user manual and the dev manual first. Then refer to the sample plugin and ocpn_draw because it is similar to what you want to do.
I have written this privately to you before. This is a volunteer army.
