CapSud
Your CM93 Charts will work with OpenCPN on any platform.
- I copy the entire world's worth of CM93 Charts (21,000+) to an SD Card on my laptop running anything . . . Linux, Mac OSX even Windows! LOL

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705
great,
this is the first version I can run on my quite old Htc sensation Android 4.0.3 phone.
possible now to chose the folder for charts.
but hanging ( showing round waiting icon ) if I try to use expert mode.
anyway I'm happy that I can use my smartphone now as a spare navigation device.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705
aah-well....finally. Per Citlab bug...
I can get similar strange things with fixed lights at the 1st Narrows Bridge in Vancouver, Canada.
I see Semi circles "around" lights on the bridge, but mine disappear at the middle of the 4" screen ...
And , at various zooms.
go here:
49 18 57.198 N 123 08 16.940 W
or decimal degrees
49.315889 -123.138039
Settings in Vector Chart Display, don't seem to affect this.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705
Quick question - do the plugins work in the Android versions? I wanted to try the GRIB plugin but I was unable to locate any information or documentation on how to add plugins to an Android version of OpenCPN. I am running latest Beta on an old Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - so far so good albeit slow thanks to the hardware I am using.

It probably isn't necessarily OCPN have you tried, Settings -->Developer options, chose enable mock locations?
(note: turn on developer options by <settings -->(system) about device, click on ' build number" 6 times

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705
Repost from Facebook:
I'm having the same issue as reported elsewhere (app is crashing or was crashed when I unlock the screen - strangely enough, I'm seeing this with OpenCPN 4.0 on Windows 10 as well).
Other issues:
(a) For waypoint properties, the list of available icons begins with 'Triangle', i.e. there's no 'Square', 'Anchorage', etc;
(b) In the waypoint properties: When a drop down is open, the dialog can be closed and the drop down remains on screen;
(c) There are problems with line styles of routes;
(d) Drawing of light sectors looks very ugly - may need anti-aliasing / smoothing?
Suggestions:
(a) show numeric values on sliders in the expert settings;
(b) make the expert settings dialog accessible through the android menu;
(c) After Create New Route, the yellow route button should do 'End Route' - similar with measure;
(d) The font size of (chart) pop-ups is too small and I can't find how to increase this?
(e) a google maps satellite view (no more excuses now about not having an API)
Hardware: Nexus 7 WiFi 2012, stock Android 5.1.1, rooted

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705
Wonderfull Happyseagull
it works with your advises
best regards
-clear all the connections in Opencpn. Be sure the un-advanced menu is also unchecked as to internal device gps.
-shut O down
-turn off device's "location" gps
-turn on your bluetooth gps and be sure you are paired to it. Not sure if device visibility is important but I have it ON, not hidden.
-bluetooth gps will not show a blinking blue light until something is talking to it. There should be no blue light until O alone talks to it...should not be necessary but to avoid immediate confusion, let it get a fix. Most do this on their own, I think, but whatever carry on afterawhile....
-goto O's advanced mode, toolbox /connections click the ADD connection button then choose bluetooth serialport or whatever.
-click Scan button and WAIT. your device may already show in the dropdown but if it is saying "scanning" above, keep waiting til it says "Finished"
-then, click "Apply"
